INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS (UG, PG, Interns, Nurse)
LAB CONDUCT/BEHAVIOR
All users of the centers space must act in a manner that does not disturb the academic activities occurring in the lab.
The students should wear uniform dress code, or wearing a lab coat to participate in any activity in the center.
Food or drink is not allowed in the lab including bottled water, the students and faculties can have their food from the Lounge of
simulation lab.
Without the approval of concern faculty or the management of hospital, visitors and children are not allowed to simulation lab during
open hours.
Smoking is prohibited in the Simulation lab.
Students should remain confidential and professional regarding the performance of other students during and after simulation
experiences.
Students should be serious to act as if they are in a real patient situation keeping in mind safety and infection.
Students should remain professional at all times in simulation lab and not make comments regarding the students completing the simulation
experience.
During simulation all electronics including cell phones, cameras, camera phones, and video recorders are prohibited.
LAB CONDUCT/BEHAVIOR
The faculty will review the scenarios thoroughly prior to class and work with the lab
coordinator to obtain props and equipment.
Faculty must schedule time with the lab coordinator a week prior to running through any
scenario being presented (for practicing the scenario also should informed to the lab
coordinator).
When you enter in to the simulation lab you should ensure whether the Simulation Lab
Instructor or a Faculty member present in the lab; only Faculty may operate high fidelity
simulators.
Students and faculty need to know that some of the equipment in the ACTS-YEN contains
latex. Those with a known sensitivity/allergy to latex need to contact the lab coordinator.
Students should bring personal clinical supplies such as stethoscope, penlight, and calculator ,it
will not be provided.
You have to contact simulation lab instructor before one day prior you come in to the lab for
practicing skills.
All supplies should be returned to the same cabinet in which they were found.
Please be reasonably gentle with all equipment. If you are not sure how to use something or you
find a loose object, please inform the Simulation Lab Instructor.
Needles/sharps are to never be reused under any circumstance and should be disposed of in
the sharps containers.
Please leave the area as you found it or “better,” and turn off equipment.
Use of the computers is restricted to assigned classroom work and not for personal use.
Do not remove the manikin from the bed unless instructed to do so.
All students wanting to use the lab must have proper orientation to the equipments including
to the crash cart and defibrillator.
When working with the manikins, students must wash their hands and wear gloves.
Used gloves should be disposed of in non-biohazard trash cans.
Supplies and equipment must not be taken out of the lab unless requested by an instructor.
Do not use betadine, markers, or pens on manikins. Use only the provided silicone oil for
lubricant.
Do not introduce foreign substances into the airway without the application of small
amounts of approved lubricant.
Before living simulation lab the faculties should ensure that the details of class and number of
students is wrote in the respective book provided in the simulation lab.
